This week the budget enters the first reading in the hall. I am optimistic about the budget, especially since the ITN said that they will support it at first reading. The big question is what will happen between the two readings. The problem is whether the ITN colleagues will be involved in this sabotage of the budget procedure.
This was commented in “Speak Now” by the MP from “We continue the change” and a member of the Committee on Budget and Finance Plamen Shalafov.
“No new debt is expected,” he stressed. Shalafov was adamant that there is money for pensions and they will be taken from taxes and social security contributions.
“Certain circles in and out of power prefer this money not to go to retirees, but to hollow companies that are supposed to build roads,” Shalafov said.
Regarding the protests of the Interior Ministry employees, he said that the reform in the Interior Ministry is quite difficult and complicated, the changes are almost ready and Minister Boyko Rashkov will announce them soon – layoffs are planned and then salary increases.
“There is coordination between ITN, GERB and MRF. This coordination is not only in terms of budget, money for roads, etc. On many different lines we see synchronicity and it is in a very worrying direction,” Shalafov said, citing the example of the scandal with the laboratory of the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint.
“Why do the deputies from Slavi Trifonov’s PG want the resignation of the people who are currently threatened by the mafia,” he added.
“In two weeks, the Bulgarian people will know whether there will be a new majority in parliament and a budget update,” Shalafov predicted.
He also commented on the bill on KPKONPI and the candidacy of Boyko Rashkov for chairman.
“The compromising war is in full swing. We see attacks on all fronts. Regarding the bill itself – there will certainly be a big debate, we expect it,” Shalafov said.
He declined to answer whether the resignations of ITN ministers would be accepted, saying it was the job of the Council of Ministers. “Until the adoption of the budget, we will not propose new ministers. With the update, we will measure the pulse of attitudes in parliament,” he added.
