We looked at all the possible options and saw the following – on the US market at the moment the price of gas is more than ¼ than the price of gas in Europe. This was said by Prime Minister Kiril Petkov in front of Nova TV.
According to him, the price in the United States is about 26 dollars per megawatt, about 100 euros – in Europe, and at Gazprom – about 71-72 euros.

“The margin is so large that it actually allows a good price to be negotiated there,” he said.

I wanted to prove that Bulgaria is not dependent that we can defend our interests and have options and in this way to show that no one can unilaterally make claims or try to twist our hands from now on, “said the Prime Minister.

Petkov said that the contract was signed directly with an American company, but refused to name it because the whole world is currently looking for liquefied gas, and the agreed price for Bulgaria is very good and others may ask them why they do not give it to them.
“EWRC has already said what the price is for May, but also for June gave an indicative value that the price is falling,” he said.

Regarding the oil embargo against Russia, Petkov was adamant that the EC has an understanding of our situation and Bulgaria will be included in the exceptions.
