Petkov: The decision of the war is for Russia to completely leave the territory of Ukraine – Bulgaria

E the only solution to the war is Russia to leave the territory of Ukraine completely. Anything else would mean frozen conflict and instability.

This was stated by the Prime Minister Kiril Petkov during his participation in the international forum “GLOBSEC” in Bratislava, the press center of the Council of Ministers announced.

The EU has approved new sanctions against Russia

Petkov was adamant that there was no room for compromise on the issue.

According to him, Ukrainians are fighting for Europe and it is important that the EU has a united voice in support of Ukraine. The Prime Minister gave an example with the categorical reaction of Bulgaria after the unilateral termination of gas supplies from Gazprom.

Petkov pointed out that our country has not allowed its hands to be twisted and has defended its national interest, while demonstrating leadership in Europe on this key energy issue.

The Prime Minister pointed out that despite the complicated domestic political situation in Bulgaria,

our country has decided on both humanitarian and military-technical assistance to Kyiv. Petkov noted that Bulgaria will repair 80 Ukrainian tanks, which will have a real practical effect in favor of the Ukrainian side.

Prime Minister Petkov paid special attention to the need

to look more strategically at the topic of infrastructure and connectivity in Europe so as to fill the existing logistical gaps. According to Petkov, this will make it possible to have a greater effect on investments in defense and security, as well as to secure the Eastern flank. So in the future we will not have to have discussions like the current one, whose motto is “Did I tell you”, added the Bulgarian Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Kiril Petkov is taking part in the leadership panel together with Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger and Latvian Prime Minister Krishjanis Karins.
