Blood donations are essential to treat a million patients each year. They are more than 10,000 in Reunion.
Irreplaceable and vital, blood products are used in two main scenarios: emergency situations (hemorrhage during childbirth, accident, surgery, etc.) and chronic needs (diseases of the blood and cancers), which remain the pathologies that consume the most blood products with nearly half (47%) of patients transfused.
We thank you for your invaluable support in mobilizing those around you to guarantee the supply of blood products for the needs of patients on our island who require transfusions. In this very special time of risk of bad weather or cyclones, it is important that the mobilization continues.
We welcome all donors, the wearing of the mask remaining recommended. For more information: /blood-donation-and-covid-19
