Petit Bulletin LYON – Exhibitions Lyon: Street Art – Villeurbanne: Zoo Art Show explores the fundamentals of tag

On the outskirts of Villeurbanne, not far from the periphery and on the edge of a tram track, a former transport company has been entirely tagged (on the facades of two buildings occupying a total area of 3,000 m), a solo work by five weeks! The artist wants to remain anonymous but connoisseurs will easily recognize him, the tagger having the habit of being in the territory of the Lyon metropolitan area.

There is nothing wild about the operation in this case, but is the result of cooperation between the real estate operator Vinci, the Greater Lyon and the team of Zoo Art Show. Last spring, a few thousand people ordered (via a website and payment of € 5) one or more messages which the anonymous tagger then bombed on the walls. A performance that goes back to the very sources of street art: pure and hard graffiti. The content of the messages varies from the marriage proposal to the private joke, passing through all kinds of dedications or messages of joy and hope.

In the future, the site will bring together several SMIs and SMEs in the textile, IT security, health, etc. sectors. Before the work begins and the demolition of the old buildings, the site is open to a thousand participants (and to the curious) until Friday, September 10. A 3D visit is also possible on the Zoo Art Show website.

11 rue de la Ligne de l’Est Villeurbanne until September 10
