The Panthers’ coach does not consider him lost to Benfica and sees a “very large margin of progression”
Petit revealed to Channel 11 that he has not yet been informed of Musa’s departure to Benfica and that he is counting on him for the next pre-season, even if he says it with a smile on his face. The Portuguese coach took the opportunity to reveal the player in question after a year of work with the forward. “They didn’t tell me anything… I’m counting on him, on that animal… (laughs). As a coach, we are fortunate enough to have six or seven players in our squad that have interested clubs, including Musa. I’m happy because Musa, when we arrived at Boavista, we realized that he was wearing out a lot, he was a player who ran away from his position a lot. He pressed everywhere, he went to the goalkeeper, to the wings, but a striker lives on goals and discernment and needs oxygen to be able to reach the moment of finishing with that discernment. We felt that he was worn out when the ball reached him and we did a job with him, making him see that the pressure in other areas would have to be done by others”, he began by stressing, further detailing what he sees in the future reinforcement of Roger Schmidt , in Luz. “Musa is a very strong player, very good at playing with his back to the goal, holding the ball, keeping the ball and attacking depth. He was a very important player and he still has a lot of room for progression. He has a very strong mentality, he is a kid who likes to work a lot, he often goes to the gym and sometimes we even have to put the brakes on him”, stressed the chess coach.
