The former assistant confederation captain Peter Wettergren continues at the Swedish Football Association (SvFF). Wettergren becomes Technical Director at the association.
In connection with Janne Andersson’s resignation as national team captain, after the failed EC qualification, Peter Wettergren’s contract as assistant national team captain was also terminated. But now it is clear that Wettergren will remain in the association. Östgöten has been given the role of one of two technical directors at SvFF, where he, together with Caroline Sjöblom (lady), will work to strengthen the national team operations and talent development at the association in the long term. He will also work closely with Kim Källström (football manager).
– We do very good things in Swedish football, but I am happy and grateful that I get the chance to contribute to how we can sharpen and make football’s operations even sharper, says Peter Wettergren to SvFF’s website and continues:
– It will be very inspiring to work with Caroline and Kim, we will be able to do a lot together and chart a path forward. But having said that, it is an effort that Caroline, Kim and I cannot do alone, but of course we must include clubs, districts, EFD and SEF.
