The Hungarian minister, who is in Stockholm, wrote on his Facebook page: he told British Foreign Minister James Cleverly that “since we are in the neighborhood of the war, its effects are immediately and severely felt.” In addition, the number of Hungarians who lose their lives on the front line is increasing.
The two ministers agreed that the global effects of the war are also serious, so a solution to worldwide inflation and energy and food supply difficulties must be found as soon as possible.
Péter Szijjártó welcomed the establishment of the so-called Windsor framework agreement between Great Britain and the European Union. He assured his British colleague of Hungary’s support, as this agreement – as he said – enables the deepest and most comprehensive cooperation between the EU and Great Britain, which is the closer and more effective, the better for the Union and for Hungary in it.
Regarding the ratification of Finnish and Swedish NATO accession, Péter Szijjártó informed James Cleverly that the government supports the ratification, but at the same time “the democratically elected members of parliament have a legitimate expectation of these two countries not to spread fake news and lies about Hungary” and to give the respect to Hungary.
