LE MARKSTEIN – Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard will come for the second yellow jersey from the Tour de France in his career on Sunday. Slovakian Peter Sagan (TotalEnergies) finished in 104th place with a deficit of 25 minutes.
Sagan also managed the penultimate stage, and he will say goodbye to the Tour on Sunday in Paris, where twice in his career he finished just below the highest level. “I’m happy that I’ve finished the last hill of the Tour,” he said to RTVS at the finish line of Saturday’s stage. “Today was cool. It was fast, I still passed the first hill, it was already torn in the second. We will see what can be done in Paris. I finished second there twice and I will try to improve it.”
During the final stage to Paris, there is no longer a fight for the overall triumph, but the route with the finish on the Champs Elysées is described as the unofficial sprint world championship.
