The final corner was key for the sprint to the finish, where Peter Sagan had a good run and held on to Caleb Ewan. “In the end I’m fourth, which is not bad. I can’t judge Wout Van Aert’s sprint, that’s what the judges are for. You could have seen it yourself on TV. I’m glad I’m still here in one piece,” Peter Sagan told the website at the end of the race cycling-info.sk: “Did Wout Van Aert shut me down? Watch it on TV, I didn’t see it, and that’s where it ends for me.”

The three-time world champion had to slow down before starting to accelerate again. He lost speed and it was not enough for better than fourth place. “I am not satisfied. I started sprinting, got to the right, we were more or less on the same level as the gap started to close. All of a sudden I found myself blocked and unable to do anything,” brought his words Czech iDnes.cz.

“It wasn’t exactly a hectic day. The final was nervous, but we are on the Tour. In the end it turned out well with the wind, it could have been a much harder stage. Yesterday we had a headwind, today it wasn’t very windy. The Danish part of the Tour was great. There were a lot of people here. It’s been a tough few years for cycling and it’s great to see so many fans again.” added the Slovak cyclist.
