Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard will become the winner of the Tour de France for the first time in his career. All he has to do is reach the finish line of the 109th edition on the Champs-Élysées in Paris on Sunday. The rider of the Jumbo-Visma stable confirmed his excellent form in the 40.7 km long time trial from Lacapelle-Marival to Rocamadour on Saturday, in which he took 2nd place.

He once again defeated his biggest rival in the fight for the yellow jersey and two-time defender Tadej Pogačar from Slovenia (SAE Team Emirates). He lost 3:34 minutes to him in the overall ranking. Briton Geraint Thomas from Ineos will finish third. The winner of the penultimate 20th stage was another competitor Jumba Wout van Aert with a time of 47:59 minutes.
Peter Sagan (TotalEnergies) took 83rd place (+6:30 min). The Slovak started 20th in the order and achieved a time of 54:29 min. “It’s a more technical time trial, it’s up and down, pulling and it’s about performance. Tomorrow I’ll try to please the fans and, first of all, myself.” Sagan said to RTVS after reaching the finish line.
On Sunday, the program traditionally includes the ceremonial stage from La Défense to the Champs Elysees in Paris (115.6 km), in which sprinters fight for the triumph. Van Aert won there last year.
Peter Sagan is a phenomenon. The fans are still “eating” him:
