Sad news hit the theater world. Peter Rapoš, the soloist of the ballet troupe of the Slovak National Theater and a prominent pedagogue, died on Christmas Day. He was a respectable 91 years old.
Another legend has gone to artistic heaven. Peter Rapoš left the world right on Christmas Day. The long-time soloist of the ballet company of the Slovak National Theater and pedagogue died at the age of 91.
The theater announced the sad news on its social networks. “An excellent dancer and erudite educator, he celebrated his 91st birthday only a few days ago,” it recalled theatre.
”This extraordinary personality, a theater person with his whole being, was constantly interested in what was happening on our first scene,” she added for the Slovak daily Tops theater secretary Izabela Pažitková.
His theater colleagues remember him not only as a great ballet soloist, but also as a pleasant and wise companion who “brought positive energy to the ballet with his disarming smile and elegance”.
Rapoš started performing in the ballet of the Slovak National Theater in 1951. During his career he also worked abroad. At the same time, he taught at the Academy of Performing Arts and contributed to the establishment of the Eva Jaczová Dance Conservatory.
