Comedian Peter Pannekoek lashed out hard at Johan Derksen during the Televizier-Ring Gala. In a long rant, he said that the well-known face of Today Inside is ‘the example of a man who has started to believe in himself a little too much’.
“According to Johan Derksen, Today Inside is the only program on Dutch television where people still really say what they think,” Peter Pannekoek started his ‘roast’ of Johan Derksen last night. “He is a man who everyone calls camera horny, while he himself is on TV five days a week.”
Always give his opinion
And when he is not on TV, Derksen “brings a camera crew to Grollo to give his opinion about something that was in De Telegraaf that day,” Pannekoek continued.
The comedian, who presented the Televizier-Ring Gala together with Jan Smit, also said that Derksen calls everyone younger than him ‘a brat’. “But everyone in the Netherlands is younger than him. He is the tip of the aging pyramid.”
Pannekoek then cited Johan Derksen’s ‘candle’ comment. “I don’t know exactly how old he is: I can’t count the candles on his birthday cake because he shoved them all into an unconscious woman.”
The well-known face of Today Inside said in 2022 that he had penetrated an unconscious woman with a candle in the past. That led to a commotion. According to Pannekoek, Derksen is ‘a man who can say on TV every day that he is not allowed to say anything anymore’.

The Golden Televizier-Ring Gala was last night in the Royal Theater Carré in Amsterdam. Merel Ek, who regularly appears as a journalist on Today Inside, won the prize in the Televizier-Ring Talent category.
‘I can handle it very well’
After the gala, Derksen responded to Pannekoek’s comments at Today Inside. “I’m just going to sue him. Defamation!”, Johan Derksen initially said. He later said that he was not bothered by Pannekoek’s jokes. “I can handle that very well,” he said.
There was an enthusiastic response to the comedian’s tirade on social media:
