Once upon a time there were two brothers, one of whom decided not to work for the king anymore, but to overthrow his empire. The other brother also went with him, agreeing to be his press chief and asking the King to let him stay in the Court, just to change his role a bit. If Péter Magyar likes to call himself Matyi Lúdas, we will try to illustrate what happened to him and his brother with this small parable from a folk tale.
A Media1.hu followed him Péter Magyar’s brother, and asked the group of newspapers near Lőrinc Mészáros whether Márton Magyar worked for them.
“Although the name of Márton Magyar, Péter Magyar’s brother, was recently removed from the Economx imprint belonging to the Indamedia media group close to Fidesz, which also owns Index, to Media1’s interest, the Lőrinc-based media group Mészáros admitted that they continue to work with Márton Magyar. All of this is also interesting, since Márton Magyar is also the press secretary of the vice president of the TISZA Party and the founder of Talpra Magyars, Péter Magyar, so he has a dual role. The NER media company transferred him to a new, unspecified position,” the portal reports.
Indamedia to Média1: Márton Magyar is still our colleague, we employ him in a new role
Media1: Although our questions sent to the press relations e-mail address of Péter Magyar’s party were not answered, we also sent questions to Indamedia to find out if they are still working with the brother of the new politician, who also acts as Péter Magyar’s press officer. From the latter place, Indamedia, we received the answer that “Journalist Márton Magyar is still an employee of Indamedia.” When we asked why his name was removed from the Economx cast list recently, they wrote:
“the mentioned journalist is still an employee of Indamedia, who, protected from possible attacks, is employed in a different scope of duties than before.”
Péter Magyar claimed the opposite on TikTok
In a TikTok video, Péter Magyar claims that his brother will not work at Indamedia during the campaign because his employment has been suspended. It is a good question why Indamedia then claimed that they were still working with Márton Magyar, but that he had just been given new responsibilities. Also, why did the press office of Talpra Hungarians not answer anything to Media1’s question about whether their journalist, Márton Magyar, works for Indamedia or not.
By the way, on the Economx site, it appears that content was published by him even on April 9 – that is, weeks after the party’s large street demonstration on March 15 and a few days after after the huge demonstration held in front of the Parliament on April 6 even a few days. While Márton Magyar participated in the organization of the demonstrations, he managed press relations, so his dual role certainly existed at that time.
The clear Matyi Lúdas is therefore not telling the truth about this, if the contents found by Media1 really come from the pen of Péter Magyar’s brother.
