Composed in three parts, the documentary, initially planned for the cinema, revolves around images never revealed until today.

If Peter Jackson has made himself known worldwide with the fantasy universe of hobbits, the New Zealand filmmaker has recently committed to portray the Beatles in a documentary which will be available on Disney + next fall. The musical documentary promises among other things to highlight the rehearsals as well as the recording sessions of the album Let It Be.
Originally intended for cinema, The Beatles : Get Back will ultimately air as a six-hour miniseries. It consists of previously unseen archive footage, filmed largely by Michael Lindsay-Hogg. To these rare images are added audio and musical extracts never heard before. The film will also render one of the Beatles’ last performances on the rooftop of 3 Savile Row, the group’s headquarters, on January 30, 1969.
“In many ways, the remarkable images of Michael Lindsay-Hogg captured several storylines. The story of friends and individuals. It is the story of human frailties and of a divine partnership. In six hours you will get to know the Beatles with an intimacy you never thought possible ” assures Peter Jackson in a Deadline article.
The film is the result of a titanic work of restoring images and soundtracks. In particular, a remastering of the music had to be carried out to ensure quality within the documentary. If the film by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, Let It Be (1970 – Oscar for the best musical band) illustrated the tensions of the group on the eve of its dissolution, the documentary by Peter Jackson presents on the contrary the collective and creative state of mind of the Beatles.
The Beatles : Get Back will be available on the Disney + streaming platform on November 25, 26 and 27, 2021.
