Krefeld Peter Götz is the new liaison between schools and the stage – a donation makes it possible. Perhaps some theatergoers will know Götz – he was also often on the stage here.
(ped) Peter Götz is the new man in the theatre. His duties revolve around everything that has to do with school. It is fortunate that the theater now has its own consultant for schools. Because the new position was created thanks to the generous donation of a Krefeld citizen who does not want to be named.

Götz mediates the theater education program, informs schools about the schedule and thus strengthens the Communications and Marketing department. Götz is a trained actor, director and theater teacher. And the new position is a return to the place of his first engagement: In 1992, the director at the time, Wolfgang Gropper, brought him fresh from drama school to the community theater, where Götz appeared on stage in many productions.

In the meantime, Götz has successfully changed his perspective and made it his task to bring the fascination of theater closer to children and young people. He knows from experience that this works best through personal contact with school principals and teachers. This is exactly where he would like to start and introduce them to the many offers that the theaters in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach have in their repertoire especially for schools. It’s not just about attending performances, for example of Lessing’s classic “Nathan the Wise”, with theater-pedagogical support, but also about long-term partnerships between school and theater, from which both sides can benefit.
