Songwriter and musician always open to experimentation, eclectic performer, philanthropist, producer. But first of all, Peter Gabriel known for being the leader of Genesis, a pioneering group of progressive rock that he left at the peak of success. Born in England, Surrey, on February 13, 1950, Gabriel played in the band as a singer, flutist and percussionist from the late 1960s to 1975. After him, then drummer Phil Collins became the lead singer of the group. the dozens of auditions made to find a new voice had not been successful. Gabriel retired to private life for a couple of years and then embarked on a solo career, approaching new musical worlds and experimenting from the beginning the combination of music and images.
