The British actor Bruce Myers, who had accompanied the legendary director Peter Brook in many plays created in France, died in Paris, announced on Wednesday the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord.
“An important figure in the theater has just left us, Bruce Myers, a unique actor, of whom we mourn today“Commented Peter Brook, 95, in a press release from the theater of the 10th arrondissement in Paris that he brought back to life in the 1970s.
Born in 1942 in Radcliffe (England), Bruce Myers, who was also a director, played in many Brook creations, notably in plays by William Shakespeare like “Timon of Athens“(1974),”Measure for measure“(1978),”Storm“(1990) and”Hamlet(2000).
He was also one of the interpreters of the famous Brook epic, “Mahâbhârata“(1985), of”The Bird Conference“(1979) and”I am a freak(1998).

Bruce was a genius and, I bet, a lovely person. Only just now learned of his passing, and I’m bereft. What a talent, lost to horrible plague which has taken so many.
