Petare basket increases and exceeds the $40 barrier

The Venezuelan Finance Observatory (OVF) presented the price linked to the Petare Basket in its week 9 of the year 2023. For the first time in the current calendar, the index was above $40.

Specifically the price for 8 foods from the Food Basket is $40.14or what is equal to Bs. 983.

Said variation in bolivars was represented by an increase of 1.44% compared to last week. While, the rise in the US currency was 2.94%.

These were the prices in the last week of the 8 foods that make up the Petare Basket:

• Egg carton – Bs. 104
• 1 kilo of precooked cornmeal – Bs. 36
• 1 kilo of white cheese – Bs. 125
• 1 kilo of beef – Bs. 218
• 1 kilo of ground coffee – Bs. 285
• 1 kilo of rice – Bs. 35.
• 1 liter of corn oil – Bs. 143
• 1 kilo of sugar – Bs. 37
