Petar Kanev, BSP: We did everything possible to have a government – 2024-02-29 18:21:43

/ world today news/ Within two years, ITN four times eliminated the possibility of Bulgaria having a government

“I was part of the BSP negotiating team and I think we approached it quite reasonably and logically.” We made the negotiating team and Ninova herself did absolutely everything possible to have a government. We had two documents, it was decided to conduct negotiations between the four parties. “There is such a people” were also invited and there were no symptoms of complications.” This is how the People’s Representative from “BSP for Bulgaria” Petar Kanev commented on the current political situation on the air of BTV. According to the socialist, the distributed video from the meeting of “Democratic Bulgaria” was only an occasion for ITN to end the negotiations, and the reasons are deeper.

He recalled yesterday’s decision of the BSP to retain the mandate at least until August 12, in order to solve the problem with KEVR, and added: “The most surprising thing in the hall, however, when voting shortened deadlines for proposing candidacies for KPCONPI, ITN voted against and that could not pass. That was the first signal that something was wrong,” Petar Kanev believes. According to him, within two years, ITN has liquidated the possibility of Bulgaria having a government four times.

“We don’t have any agreements, we will respect everything that is according to the Constitution and we will comply with the decisions of our governing bodies,” said a left-wing MP regarding the third mandate and added that a meeting of the Left’s Executive Bureau is coming up on Monday. “Everyone appreciates our efforts. The BSP did everything possible to conduct the negotiations transparently. After each meeting, the media were informed,” the socialist recalled.

“We have been playing this exercise for the past months. We are willing and must have a chairman of KEVR, because the consequences will be very serious. We have yet to sign a contract for gas, prices have yet to be determined, and they are of two types – for the poor and the rich, for electricity and the energy poor,” he added. According to the socialist, one of the co-presidents of KEVR can be authorized, but this also happens with a decision of the parliament.

Regarding KPCONPI, Kanev explained that the left did not give up on the nomination of Boyko Rashkov as head of the commission. “This is one of the points listed in the legislative program,” clarified the socialist.
