The Petacones Cheese Festival will be held next Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7 at Salamanca Eventos, in Nuevo Cuscatlán. On this occasion, the company will have the participation of 14 restaurants: El Lomo y La Aguja, Qué Rico Frito, El Holandés Errante, Jorner, Kebabs, La Marquesa, Nación Sushi, Nómada, Popolare, Stacks, Tozzi, La Santa Diabla, IceCroll and Mom Made.
The event organizers explained that each restaurant has the challenge of creating a special dish for the Festival, “something unique” that they do not currently have on their menu. The plate must contain one or more Petacones cheeses, they explained. Melting cheeses are usually used, traditional hard cheeses that are super representative of the brand, creamy cheeses, and even sweet preparations with cheese, which always tend to surprise diners.
The festival will be open to the whole family, and begins on Saturday, April 6 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and on this occasion it has been extended one more day, so participants will be able to enjoy also on Sunday, April 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.. Admission to the event will cost $6 for one day and $10 for two days, with complimentary drinks, children under 3 years old are free, and it is a Pet Friendly event. The price for all savory dishes will be $7 and for sweet dishes will be $4.
A panel of expert jurors, within the food category, will be in charge of awarding the best dishes of the festival: Andrés Guevara from the digital magazine Sivarcuisine; Roberto Alas, from Kaeru; Rodrigo Ascencio, from La Gastroteca; Fátima Cuéllar from Xolo; and, José María Vargas, from Hyatt. They will evaluate not only the flavor, but also the creativity in the use of Petacones cheeses, therefore the “Best Salty Dish”, “Best Sweet Dish” and “Creative Dish” will be awarded by the jury staff, but this Also important this year is the evaluation of all the kings of Cheesyland, the diners, therefore the “Fan Favorite” will also be awarded by public vote.
Music is always key at the festival to have the most joyful atmosphere. As guests there will be the presence of Zander DJ, musical groups such as Tónico 86, among others. They will entertain during both days with different musical proposals.
For the most exquisite palates, 4 tastings will be offered guided by an expert Sommelier in one of the private rooms, where cheese-based appetizers will be tasted and paired with different wines, liquors and mixology.
Quesos Petacones thanked your sponsor Diszasa, which will provide some of its liquors as a base for cocktails and drinks designed to refresh the festival. In addition, you can find some international beers in our bars.
Other sponsors are brands Pepsi, which will provide drinks soft drinks, soft drinks and water, as well as surprises and activities offered by DIANA for boys and young people. Similarly, NIU joins in providing the easiest and fastest way to pay at the Festival, and La Curacao with its LG brand will be present with many surprises and raffles for attendees.
