/ world today news/ The criminal case opened against the founder of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin due to the fact of incitement to an armed rebellion, will be terminated, announced the press secretary of the head of state of Russia Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov said that Prigozhin would “go to Belarus”, reports TASS.
The Kremlin spokesman also spoke about the agreement reached for Wagner to return to his post. Some of the fighters who wish will be able to enter into contracts with the Ministry of Defense in the future, Peskov said, clarifying that this applies to those of them who did not participate in this “campaign”.
Peskov called June 24 “a difficult day, literally full of tragic events.” He stressed that the situation was resolved without further losses and without increasing the level of tension.
The situation with the rebellion, the Kremlin spokesman assured, will in no way affect the course of the special military operation, the HVO continues. Russian fighters on the front line are showing heroism, “very, very effectively” repelling the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Peskov stressed.
All Saturday, President Vladimir Putin was working in the Kremlin, Peskov said, adding that no new calls were planned in the head of state’s schedule.
We recall that Prigozhin, after negotiations with the head of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, said that he had decided to deploy his columns and return to the field camps according to the plan. President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to Lukashenko for the work done.
