Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Western sanctions against Russia over the war in Ukraine will not force Moscow to reconsider.
“Even the harshest sanctions have not caused countries to change their minds,” Peskov told journalists, BNR reported.
At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman added that all difficulties with the supply of Russian natural gas to Europe are caused by Western restrictions. He was adamant that Russia remains “an important and necessary part of European energy security”.
“Gazprom continues and will continue to fulfill its obligations to its customers,” Peskov emphasized regarding concerns in Europe that Russia may further limit gas supplies to the continent.
Peskov also dismissed as “fake information” rumors about President Vladimir Putin’s deteriorating health.
