Life imprisonment with daytime isolation for two months. This is the request made by the Potenza Public Prosecutor, Giampaolo Robustella, during the trial of Giovanni Battista Errico, the 42-year-old from Pescopagano accused of killing, on 21 March 2023, the doctor Lorenzo Pucillo, 70 years old, former social doctor of Picerno in Serie C and an esteemed professional.
We remember that initially we thought it was an attack by animals. But from the beginning, there was no shortage of doubts, so much so that a murder investigation began immediately. Until the man confessed to the murder in the barracks in Pescopagano. The trial is underway with the immediate rite before the Court of Assizes of Potenza. Having concluded the trial phase and having rejected the request for a new ballistics report, we will now proceed with new hearings – the next one on 10 December – and then arrive at the council chamber and the sentence.
According to the investigations, the crime was based on neighborhood problems and animals trespassing on the land. Murder with three rifle shots.
The ruling could already arrive at the beginning of 2025.
