PES happens to be called eFootball and the official trailer will give you nightmares!

For many years now, PES (Pro Evolution Soccer) has tried to rival the various editions of FIFA, but without great success. This year’s edition revealed an impressive evolution, leaving in the air the possibility that FIFA 22 could have a worthy opponent in PES 2022, but it seems that this will not happen.

It was officially revealed today that PES will basically cease to exist, being called just eFootball. Confirmation was made by publishing the first images of the new game through its official YouTube account. However, it is impossible not to highlight the quality flaw in this video.

When watching the trailer, we even get the feeling that the person doing the voice over he’s not talking about the same game we see in the screenshots. The players’ movements are far from being fluid and natural, it is possible to watch countless situations in which the ball hits against “air walls” and players sliding in the air.

While in most situations the players’ faces are with an impressive level of detail, in others they don’t even look like the same people. An excellent example of this is the featured image used for the video above, in which it looks more like a Messi lookalike.

eFootball arrives this fall, free and with cross-platform support

At the end of the video, Konami reveals some details about the launch of eFootball. The game will be available for most platforms:

  • PlayStation 4
  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X/S
  • Xbox One
  • PC (Steam)
  • Smartphone (Android/iOS)

An initial version (end of September) will be released only for consoles where you can play games using 9 teams:

  • FC Barcelona
  • FC Bayern Munich
  • Juventus
  • Manchester United
  • Arsenal
  • Vasco da Gama
  • Flamengo
  • São Paulo
  • River Plate

Still not having been officially confirmed, it is likely that in early October the full version will be released for all platforms, where all teams and championships will be integrated. Furthermore, online leagues will be made available, as well as a mode similar to the popular FIFA Ultimate Team.

In winter (still without more concrete details about dates) the version of eFootball for smartphones will be released, with support for the controller being also added, this being the only way to be able to play cross-platform with players on consoles or PC.

Some of the eFootball sections will be paid for, but Konami has yet to provide detailed information on this matter.
