The director of the Pedro Romero Social Emergency Plan (PES), Kairen Gutiérrez, defended himself from accusations made against him for alleged nepotism in that agency. It should be remembered that, according to social leader, Jacqueline Perea, the official would have allowed the hiring of 22 relatives, among uncles, cousins and even a sister.
Gutiérrez pointed out that the ignorance of the Palenquera culture has generated different indications. “Since I was little my mother taught me that adults in the Palenquera community are my uncles, my grandparents, and that has been taught to my 3-year-old daughter;. This culture has allowed us to strengthen our values and our roots as palenquera community”, He declared.
The PES director assured that these 22 people are palenqueras, but clarified that they are not her family by consanguinity, but his family is due to cultural roots.
“Unfortunately this persecution has not respected the deceased. In the information disseminated, Mrs. Perea reports that Edna Luisa is the daughter of Mrs. María del Tránsito and that Mrs. María del Tránsito is the Kairen’s aunt. Edna Luisa Cimarra Hernández is the daughter of Mrs. Ramona. I have the civil death registry, Mrs. Ramona unfortunately died two years ago from breast cancer, ”he argued.
He also added that in the case of Rubén Hernández Cassiani, who is referred to as his spiritual advisor, is a historian from the Javeriana University, and a Master’s degree from the Santo Tomás University, and has a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the Atlantic University.
“As well as Rubén in Pes, we also have Ricardo Navarro, he is a Social Communicator of the Universidad los Libertadores, with more than 44 years of national and international experience, in radio stations and journalistic spaces. The people who work in the PES are suitable professionals in the different areas they work for. But they have also demonstrated at work in the communities ”, he expressed.
Despite this statement, Kairen Gutiérrez did not specify if Margelis Gutiérrez Tejedor, who works in the PES, is his sister.
