Peruvian Football Federation’s YouTube Channel Hacked: Videos Replaced with Unrelated Content

The Peruvian Football Federation reported that its YouTube channel was hacked and that it has been working on the solution.

An unprecedented event just occurred a few minutes ago. And it is that the Peruvian Football Federation has reported that its YouTube channel has been hacked and that all its videos have been changed by others of a different nature. In this sense, the national body sent a message about this event and caused a wave of responses on Twitter.

It was through the little bird’s social network that the FPF made this fact known and published the following text: “We inform the public about the misuse of the official YouTube account of the FPF by unauthorized persons. We urge followers to understand and the final solution to the problem and a backup account will be communicated as soon as possible,” the post reads.

Now, the hacker has replaced the videos that the FPF had in the ‘VIDEOS’ section with others that are related to downloading computer programs such as Creative Cloud, Adobe Illustrator, Canva Pro, FL Studio 20 and others.

With this computer invasion, the main entity of Peruvian football will have to create another alternate account to upload their videos while they solve the problem.

The response from users on the Twitter account was immediate. There were bewildering messages, others jokingly requesting the software that was disseminated and others accusing the president of the FPF, Agustín Lozano, for his management and also for the departure of Ricardo Gareca.

Just as it happened with the FPF, other accounts in the field of soccer have suffered hacker attacks. In 2018, Alianza Lima suffered a cyber invasion from a fan who used the club’s Twitter account to launch messages against the board of directors at that time prior to the match against Boca Juniors from Argentina for the Copa Libertadores.

“(Gustavo) Zevallos and (Renzo) Gayoso are my cancer and they are killing me. Please alliancist fans help me. The capacity and organizational level of these incompetents are from an amateur team,” the publication read.

The response from the La Victoria entity came shortly after with a calming text for the fans. “We reported that our official Twitter account was hacked a few minutes ago. As an institution, we reject any act that harms and threatens the work of any of our collaborators, we fully trust their work within the institution”, he specified.

In the same way, the Bolivian Football Federation suffered a cyberattack in 2011. This occurred after the game in which the “Altiplano” faced the Peruvian team as part of the 11th round of the South American Qualifiers at the Hernando Siles stadium in Peace.

On that occasion, the result was a 1-0 victory for the hosts with Ramiro Vaca’s goal. However, after that, the Bolivian institution issued a statement explaining that hackers invaded its website and posted the following offensive message: “Bolivian, Bolivian… Oh what a pity you give me… You bathe in the lake, I bathe in the sea”.

The Peruvian team faced four friendlies this year in preparation for the start of the South American Qualifiers in September. On the European tour in March, the ‘bicolor’ lost 2-0 with Germany and drew goalless with Morocco.

However, in the Asian trip in June, the national team achieved a victory against South Korea (1-0) and fell by a landslide against Japan 4-1.
