Carlos Casella (Lima, May 30, 1987) is a Peruvian film, theater and television actor, recognized mainly for his participation in the film series The worst of my weddings and in the soap operas La Reina de las Carretillas, Mi Esperanza and Colorina.
Trained at the Theater School of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru,[1]Casella achieved recognition in his country after playing the recurring role of José Tapia García in the series La Reina de las Carretillas in 2012, and for his participation as Ángel in the series Comando Alfa in 2014. Three years later he made his film debut playing to Lucas in the horror film The Entity, by filmmaker Eduardo Schuldt.[2]
After recording minor roles in the soap operas Valiente amor and Amores que matan, in 2016 he returned to the cinema with the comedy film The worst of my weddings, in the role of Juanito. He would repeat his role in The Worst of My Weddings 2 (2019) and The Worst of My Weddings 3 (2023).[3][4]Between 2017 and 2018 he played the recurring role of Gérard in the soap opera Colorina.[5]
After appearing in the film Somos Néctar in 2017, a year later he acted as Octavio Mondragón in the telenovela Mi Esperanza,[6]and in 2019 he joined the main cast in the series Señores papis. Her next project was the film De patitas a la calle (2020), directed by Carlos Landeo.[7]That same year he participated in the web series Trapped: Divorce in Quarantine.[8]
Between 2021 and 2022 he played the role of Herbert in the series Moonlight,[9][10]and in 2023 she was part of the cast of the comedy film Susy: Una vedette en el Congreso, directed by Liliana Álvarez.[11]That same year he starred in the play Oh, Father!, about a young homosexual who questions his relationship with his deceased father.[12]
