Beach volleyball players Ondřej Perušič and David Schweiner have a certain participation in the final of the World Circuit at least in the quarterfinals. The Czech couple defeated Latvians Martins Plavinš and Edgars Točs at 21:13 and 21:17 in Cagliari today, after the third win they lead a five-member group A and have a certain progress to Saturday’s elimination fights.

“The winning line continues!” Perušič and Schweiner stated on social networks. “In two sets, we managed to defeat the Latvians for two weaker moments and thus secure progress to the elimination part. Where will he decide against the domestic legends,” they added.
On Friday, Perušič and Schweiner will play from 18:00 with the home pair Paolo Nicolai, Daniele Lupo and the win would ensure them advance from the first place of the group directly to the semifinals. Defeat can mean first to third place, with the pairs in second and third places playing the quarterfinals.

The Czechs managed the fourth pair from the Olympics in Tokyo Plavinš and Točs in the first set thanks to Perušič’s traditionally good defense in the field and Schweiner’s work on the net without any major problems. The Czechs decided the more balanced second set from 15:14, when the Latvians helped with a mistake and Schweiner added a successful block.
Perušič and Schweiner defeated the Dutch Christiaan Varenhorst and Steven van de Velde 2: 1 in sets on Wednesday and then managed 2: 0 with the Americans Taylor Crabb and Jake Gibbs.
