Peru’s Transportation Authority delivers masks to more than one hundred thousand taxi drivers
In order to contain the spread of the Coronavirus in public transport and protect the taxi drivers who offer the service, the Urban Transport Authority for Lima and Callao (ATU) will deliver surgical masks to more than one hundred thousand professionals in the sector.
The president of the ATU, María Jara, commented that these are masks that comply with all the protocols established by the Ministry of Health (Minsa) and will be delivered to drivers at 14 distribution points in Lima and Callao in the following districts:
Chorrillos, El Agustino, Jesús María, La Molina, San Juan De Miraflores, Bellavista, Ate, Lince, Miraflores, San Isidro, San Miguel, San Martin De Porres, Santa Anita and San Borja, with whom there is close coordination.
“The campaign will last until June 30, the delivery of masks will take place from Monday to Saturday from 6:00 to 16:00,” said Jara.

Drivers of the public service of special transport of people, in the taxi mode, must register through the following link, following these steps:
A. Registry of Service Centers for Operators
1. The application starts with the identification of the driver in the system
2. View of the driver record
The driver must update his data such as: current address, district of residence, email, telephone number and choose the place where he will collect the protection material. Once the driver has completed his registration, he will not be able to re-register.
3. Compliant registration
The pick-up date and time will be confirmed to the driver at the selected service center.
Taxi drivers are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled time, since each service center will have a schedule of 300 authorized drivers per day in order to avoid crowds and maintain social distancing.
