Peru will host the Youth World Weightlifting Championships

One of the great sporting events that our country will host this year will be the 2024 World Youth Weightlifting Championship, which will take place from May 22 to 26, at Sports Center 3 of the VIDENA Legado headquarters. The event will bring together nearly 300 athletes from more than 20 countries.

Peru will host again, after the remembered Under 17 Weightlifting World Cup, held in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, in November 2020. In this way, Lima will continue to establish itself as the sports capital in America, by have adequate and first-world sports infrastructure, which allows the holding of competitions of international significance.

That is the case of Sports Center 3 of the VIDENA Legado headquarters, built for the Lima 2019 Games, which will vibrate again, with the public cheering from the stands.

Originally, the 2024 World Weightlifting Championships were going to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in Manama, capital of the small sovereign Asian island state, located on the west coast of the Persian Gulf. However, Peru received the endorsement of the International Weightlifting Federation to develop the most important weightlifting event.
