Peru signed an agreement with France to improve hospitals Antonio Lorena de Cusco and Sergio Bernales de Lima

The governments of Peru and France signed a contract on Saturday for the improvement and / or expansion of hospital health services. Antonio Lorena from Cusco and Sergio Bernales de Lima, through a State-to-State agreement with which more than 3.4 million people will benefit.

As reported from the Ministry of Health (Minsa), this system will be implemented through its National Health Investment Program (Pronis), which will invest a total of 19 million 462 thousand 133.74 dollars so that the companies Egis Batiments International and AP-HP International, designated by the French Government, carry out the works.

However, the sector specified that this execution modality does not mean a privatization of the health services offered by both hospitals. In this regard, the Minister of Health, Victor Zamora, stressed that this type of contract guarantees transparency, since it will have the supervision of the inspection instances.

In this line, the holder of the Minsa He commented that under the ‘Health unites us’ strategy, his sector works in an articulated manner with the national government, regional and local governments, in addition to government-to-government treatment, as is the case in France.

Who also spoke was the French ambassador, Antonie Grassin, who expressed his satisfaction at the achievement of the agreement whose main objective is to optimize the health services of the hospitals of Lima and Cusco.

Jean Paul Benavente García, regional governor of Cusco, argued that the improvement agreement is a message to fight corruption. He added that hopes that the project execution times will be met for the benefit of the Cusco population.

Regarding the term in which the execution of the project will be carried out, the Minsa specified that It will be a total of 34 months, counted from the day after the cash payment of the advance by the Pronis.
