In this regard, the president of Concytec, Sixto Sánchez, explained that 110.6 million soles of the budget will be allocated to public investment and 128 million soles to finance interventions as the governing body of the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation (Sinacti).

The budget allocated to Concytec interventions in 2024 was 117.8 million soles and the increase of 10.2 million soles will allow for the implementation of initiatives such as the gradual implementation of the new Sinacti regulatory framework, until 2027, which includes the strengthening of scientific integrity, he added.

The plan also includes strengthening the services offered by Concytec and promoting scientific culture among children and adolescents, with activities for science clubs and the popularization of scientific and technological development.

In addition, the evaluation processes for applications for tax benefits for investments in science, technology and innovation will be improved, and researchers will be given easier access to scientific literature and the processes for classifying researchers will be improved.

Concytec plans to invest in 275 research projects through the Prociencia Program and will allocate 1.5 million soles to update the technical file of the project to improve and expand its services.

The project to improve and expand STI services will also continue to be implemented in order to strengthen Sinacti, which has among its objectives the implementation of a doctoral training program, the financing of 26 research networks and the development of technologies for consortia in value chains.

“Concytec reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the ecosystem of science, technology and innovation in the country, promoting initiatives that will foster scientific and technological development with an impact on decentralization and economic growth,” concluded Sánchez.
