TIME.CO, Jakarta – Pertamina Patra Niaga provides answers relating to vehicle user complaints about this Pertalite which is considered extravagant. Several Facebook social media accounts assume that the quality of the subsidized fuel type decreased after the fuel prices increase.
There are five users Facebook who complained about the quality of Pertalite. Most of them claimed that the current Pertalite evaporates faster, thus making their vehicles extravagant than usual.
Pertamina Patra Niaga’s corporate secretary, Irto Ginting, said that: subsidized fuel Pertalite does not undergo a degradation of quality.
He also provided several points relating to this Tempo.co today, Monday, September 19, 2022. Here are five points he made:
• Pertalite (RON 90) combustible product of Pertamine has not changed its specifications. The standards and quality of Pertalite fuel marketed through official distributors in Indonesia comply with the decree of the Director General of the Oil and Gas Sector number 0486.K / 10 / DJM.S / 2017 relating to standards and qualities (specifications) of 90 types of petrol fuel oil marketed nationally.
• Limitations in the General Manager Oil and Gas specifications that indicate the evaporation rate at room temperature include the Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) parameter. Currently, the Pertalite RVP test results that are distributed by the Pertamine Fuel Oil Terminal (TBBM) are still within the allowable limits, which are in the 45-69 kPa (Kilopascal) range.
• Evaporation may vary more rapidly if the storage temperature increases. In specifications, the maximum limit for evaporation (or commonly known as distillation) of Pertalite is 10 percent, limited to a maximum of 74 degrees Celsius. In general, Pertalite products have a temperature of 50 degrees Celsius. That is, at a temperature of 50 degrees Celsius, Pertalite can already evaporate up to 10 percent. The higher the temperature, the higher the evaporation rate.
• Through official distributors (SPBU and Pertashop), Pertamina is committed to distributing quality fuels according to specifications. Through quality control, products that do not meet the specifications will not be distributed to distributors.
• Pertamina encourages consumers to shop BBM in official distribution agencies, such as petrol stations and Pertashop, in order to guarantee the quality and safety of the fuel products obtained.
