Pertamina’s President Director Explains the Original Price of Pertamax, Pertalite, Solar, to Elpiji If Not Subsidized

JAKARTAKOMPAS.com – PT Pertamina (Persero) stated that the economic price of fuel oil (BBM) and the elp increased sharply, in line with soaring world oil and gas prices.

As a result, currently the state-owned company is selling its products BBM and LPG at a price below the economic price, in order to maintain people’s purchasing power.

Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati revealed that the price of fuel products starts from PertalitePertamax, until Solarand the assigned LPG products sold by Pertamina are lower than their economic value.

For Pertalite, Nicke said, the current market price is IDR 17,200 per liter, but Pertamina’s selling price is still IDR 7,650 per liter. Thus, for every liter of Pertalite paid for by the community, the government subsidizes Rp 9,550 per liter.

Then for Pertamax, Pertamina still fixes the price of Rp 12,500 per liter. In fact, for gasoline with an octane number or RON 92, competitors have set a price of around Rp. 17,000 per liter, because economically the market price has reached Rp. 17,950.

“We are still holding on to the price of Rp 12,500, because we also understand that if we increase Pertamax this high, then a shift to Pertalite will occur, and of course it will increase the burden on the state,” Nicke said, in his statement, quoted on Saturday (9/7/2022) .

Meanwhile, as of July 2022, the economic price for Solar CN-48 or Biosolar (B30) is Rp. 18,150 per liter, but Pertamina is still selling this type of fuel at a price of Rp. 5,150 per liter.

“So for every liter of diesel, the government pays a subsidy of Rp. 13,000,” said Nicke.

As for PSO LPG since 2007, there has been no increase, where the price is still Rp 4,250 per kilogram, while the market price is Rp 15,698 per kg. Thus, the subsidy from the government is Rp. 11,448 per kg.
