Pertamina Factory in Cilacap, Central Java reportedly experienced fire, Saturday (13/11) evening. In a number of uploaded videos of residents, fire explosions make the flames appear large.
The fire was confirmed by Pertamina. However, a fire is claimed to have occurred in one of the product tanks. No further information can be provided.
“One of the product tanks caught fire. It wasn’t the refinery, right. We will deliver the next information,” said Corporate Secretary of Subholding Refining & Petrochemical, PT Pertamina International Refinery (KPI) Ifki Sukarya when contacted, Saturday (11/13).
The same thing was confirmed by other Pertamina officials.
“I’m driving to the location so I can’t tell you anything yet, but it’s true that there was a fire,” said Unit Manager of Commrel & CSR Pertamina RU VI Balongan Indramayu Cecep Supriyatna when contacted, Saturday (11/13).
The fire that hit the Cilacap refinery recently occurred. Previously, a fire devoured the environment around the tank in June.
The fire occurred in the 39 Pertamina RU IV Cilacap tank area at 19.45 WIB. The fire that occurred in the 39T-205 tank bundwill was successfully controlled approximately one hour after the incident or around 20.40 WIB.
However, during the cooling of the 39T-205 tank, a fire appeared in the 39T-203 tank outlet pipe. The hotspots were then extinguished on Sunday (13/6) at 10.50 WIB.
