Pertamina Gas Subholding Optimization of Natural Gas Services for the Industrial Sector

RADARBANDUNG.id, BANDUNG – Pertamina Oil and Gas Holding through PT PGN Tbk as Subholding Gas go productive in optimizing natural gas services for industrial customers. Optimization of this service is carried out through the distribution of prime gas (Gas In) to PT Fajar Surya Wisesa Tbk (FajarPaper) with a volume of 6.14 – 9.2 BBTUD for production plant maintenance purposes.

PGN Sales and Operations Director Faris Aziz said, PGN optimizes natural gas services to FajarPaper using a seasonal selling scheme, where gas volume is adjusted to customer needs. Optimization of this service is one of PGN’s capabilities as a national gas aggregator in providing optimal benefits for customers.

“Gas subholding optimizes all capabilities in terms of supply and infrastructure, so that natural gas needs can be served both in the short and long term. However, it still provides economic value that is mutually beneficial to both parties,” he said through a press release received.

He hopes that natural gas services to FajarPaper can further encourage PGN’s market growth in the Bekasi area and its surroundings. Gas distribution uses PT Pertamina EP (PEP) meter facilities at Pertagas Station Tegal Gede Bekasi and Pertagas Pipeline, with the mechanism for utilizing State Property (BMN) managed by the Ministry of Finance’s DJKN.

PGN’s Director of Infrastructure and Technology, Achmad Muchtasyar, explained that the use and operation of joint measuring instruments was used to distribute gas from PEP, PGN, and Pertagas to FajarPaper.

“PGN implements the right gas infrastructure integration so that the gas process runs smoothly according to the SOP, and can support the reliability of gas supply to FajarPaper as needed. This infrastructure integration is one proof of the effectiveness of the formation of the Pertamina Subholding Group, especially in the Gas Subholding. The hope is also to further support the reliability of infrastructure for natural gas services to industries in the Bekasi area,” said Achmad.

It is known, FajarPaper is a packaging paper manufacturer in Indonesia. Natural gas is one of the energy that can provide efficiency and the cleanest compared to other fossil fuels. This added value of natural gas supports FajarPaper as a company that cares about the environment. Every FajarPaper product comes from recycled paper and uses environmentally friendly energy-fueled production machines.

Previously, PGN in the Bekasi area distributed its first natural gas to PT AlumindoAlloy Abadi. The addition of new industrial customers was also carried out in the Deltamas Industrial Estate such as PT Summit Seoyeon Automotive Indonesia and PT Yili Indonesia Dairy. The total gas volume from the addition of new industries from January to September 2021 in the Bekasi area is 6.6 BBTUD.

“We thank all parties for their trust and support for PGN to be able to serve gas needs in the industrial sector. In the future, PGN will continue to provide better product and service breakthroughs, so that it can provide benefits for both Subholding Gas and the progress of the industry and the surrounding community,” concluded Faris.
