PT Pertamina (Persero) again raised the price of fuel oil (BBM). The increase comes amid an increasingly heated conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Irto Ginting explained that the increase in fuel prices was carried out to adjust fuel prices and world oil prices. This is in accordance with the applicable ministerial regulations.
According to Irto, the increase in fuel prices only applies to non-subsidized fuel which is usually enjoyed by the upper class.
“Adjustments follow global market prices and according to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, prices will be evaluated regularly every 2 weeks,” Irto told CNNIndonesia.com, Friday (4/2).
The three fuels that experienced price increases were Pertamax Turbo, Pertamax Dexlite, and Pertamax Dex with increases ranging from Rp. 500 to Rp. 1,000 per liter.
Meanwhile, Irto ensured that the price of subsidized fuels such as Pertamax and Pertalite would not increase.
