Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is said to be 55% cheaper.
In addition to being economical, CNG fuel is also cheaper. The price is IDR 3 thousand per litre.
And what is even more interesting is that the quality of CNG is on par with Pertamax Turbo RON 98.
For your information, the price of Pertamax Turbo RON 98 is IDR 15,200 per liter.
M Haryo Yunianto, chief director of PGN, said that using CNG as a petrol substitute is 55% cheaper than perthalite.
In its use, CNG as a fuel substitute does not require significant modifications to the vehicle’s fuel system.
CNG that has 98 octane or the equivalent of Pertamax Turbo can increase vehicle performance and with lower exhaust emissions than Pertalite.
“Besides being cheaper, methane also performs better than perthalite because it is made from clean, high-octane methane,” explained M Haryo Yunianto.
Equally important, methane is a much cheaper substitute for perthalite and solar fuel.
Using Pertalite fuel at 4 liters per day with conversion to natural gas, the fuel subsidy is 125,000 liters per year or more to replace petrol which is 55% more efficient.
Pertamina has carried out tests and the results show that a full tank of CNG can travel up to 100 km for motorcycles.
