Sofia of Sweden has a personalized tiara that has had the stones swapped out a number of times, so she switched them from glowing green emeralds to plain diamonds. Josine Drugdijk also reports that some tiaras can be reserved for higher-ranking royals. Princesses can therefore not simply choose their favorite item, but must agree on the choice of headgear beforehand, as was the case with Amelia of the Netherlands or Princess Sofia of Sweden.
