This is primarily about a factual discussion of problems in consumer insolvency proceedings (e.g. securing livelihoods, foreclosure, consumer insolvency proceedings). We have set up a separate ‘Self-employed’ forum for active and former self-employed people. General questions and problems relating to debt can be discussed in the ‘Debt Problems’ forum. The sister forum ‘life!’ deals with how to deal with and live with debt and the resulting personal burdens and problems.

If only 190 euros are subject to seizure, it doesn’t really matter whether the new loans are discharged of residual debt or not. They will still be there after the insolvency, but getting out of it somehow without insolvency is utopian.
Are you and your wife jointly liable for all loans? Does that mean that you would both go through bankruptcy proceedings?
Does your wife also work? There is no value to offset the debt? Real estate? Expensive car?Continuing to pay individual loans during bankruptcy will not work. You will have to declare them all and if individual items are not discharged, you can/must pay them off after the 3 years.
The 2 new loans are in my name only, and we both have separate Klarna and PayPal accounts. Exactly, we would both go bankrupt and my wife also works. We live in rented accommodation and have 2 cars. The second, older car seems to be slowly giving up the ghost, so it needs to be replaced. The newer one is about 7 years old and is still trading for between €14,000 and €16,000.
It’s good to know that you are not allowed to continue paying individual loans, which makes it all the more important to declare them all.
I hope it all works out and that you get rid of your debts in the end, or maybe only those who are exempt from them pay.
That would be a new, easier phase of life after all the financial worries that one always has.
Why do you need two cars to get to work? And how does the old car have to be replaced, again with new debts. The new car will certainly be gone in the insolvency at that value.
And sorry, my sympathy for you is limited. Have fun with the debt counseling! Sunrise999 Zwischendurchposter Reactions: 0

I don’t need any pity, I can handle it quite well,
by the way, I already wrote that we both work. And why should I take on new debts in your opinion? I want to have a car that fits into the financial framework that the IV sets for me, or how should I understand your sentence? I also have the option of paying the car out to the IV every month, which only benefits the IV. Shopgirl All-Knowing Reactions: 115

Can we please be nicer here? Most people who find their way to the forum are in debt for some reason and are in the same boat.
Taking the moral sledgehammer to task at individuals is not only rude, it also shows bad manners. In the worst case, it scares off other people seeking help.
