Personal advice for caring relatives is possible again

ROHRBACH-BERG. The Caritas service point for caring relatives is again offering personal counseling in the Caritas house on Gerberweg in Rohrbach-Berg. There are counseling days in Haslach from June 18th.

The corona pandemic has exacerbated the challenging situation for family carers. “Not only because many offers of relief have ceased, but because they are afraid of missing the care and leaving the person in need of care without care,” says Ute Maria Winkler from the Caritas service point for relatives. In addition, there is the interpersonal stress for caring relatives because there is hardly any contact with other people due to Corona.

Free psychosocial counseling

There is free psychosocial counseling for caregiving relatives, with the focus on their own well-being. “It’s good to talk to someone about your worries and share your own rollercoaster of feelings,” emphasizes Winkler. The Caritas employee is available to caring relatives in the Rohrbach and Urfahr Umgebung districts with advice and action. It offers information, advice and exchange. The service point also organizes workshops, courses and seminars in which knowledge and tools, for example on the subject of dementia or burnout prophylaxis, are imparted.

Monthly online meetings

The Caritas service point also invites you to online meetings with keynote speeches on a monthly basis under the title “Wegzehrung”. “Participants can take away tips for everyday life from various experts,” says Ute Maria Winkler.
