Person shot and killed by police

– I was lying in bed when I heard four shots. At first I did not think about it, but when I went down to the living room, I saw lots of police cars outside. Only then did I realize that something had happened.

That is what 17-year-old Thea Horgen Andersen says to Dagbladet, after the police on Saturday morning had shot and killed a person at Valdaskjold in Sarpsborg.

The police do not currently want to comment on what is the background for the shooting episode, but the Special Unit is already in the process of questioning several police officers.

– What I can say is that we are questioning several police officers who were directly involved in the incident. We are also considering questioning several police officers and possible witnesses afterwards, says head of the investigation department in Eastern Norway, Liv Øyen at the Bureau of Investigation, to Dagbladet.

Then cardiopulmonary resuscitation

When the 17-year-old walked out the door, she could see a person sitting on top of another.

– What I saw was that cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed, she claims.

The police task force leader on the spot, Frode Petersen, has earlier on Saturday stated that life-saving first aid was performed after the shooting episode.

“Unfortunately, life could not be saved,” said Petersen.

Beyond this, the task leader has so far not wished to comment on the incident. He also did not want to go into the gender or age of the deceased person.

Quiet area

Andresen will move to the area this winter. Although she has not lived there that long, she describes the area as quite quiet.

– There are not many younger people who live here. Most are elderly people.

She then says that several neighbors were curious about what happened, but that this has now calmed down.

– What do you think about something like this happening in your neighborhood?

– It’s a little strange, but I do not know what the cause is. I haven’t caught that much with me.

Thought daughter customs

Thea’s mother, Renathe Horgen Andersen, was at the cabin when the shooting took place.

She learned about the incident via a Snapchat message from her daughter.

– I thought she was kidding, but when I called her, it immediately became a little more serious. It is not often that something like this happens, and it is not nice either.

The mother also does not want to speculate on the reason why the police shot someone.

– I would think that they had a justifiable reason to fire the shots. At the same time, I am glad that my daughter was not completely alone. It was good that she had a visit from a friend.
