The facts took place last night in an apartment in the Minister Tacklaan at the back of Kortrijk station. One person was seriously injured, a woman between 60 and 70 years old. She got into a fight with her younger neighbor, in his twenties. He’d had some people over when things got out of hand. The woman was beaten by the group, and the neighbor’s sister in particular would have hit her hard. Other neighbors called emergency services.
The public prosecutor does not yet want to give any information about the facts, but the police have been informed that six suspects have been arrested in the meantime.
The police also had to intervene in the entertainment district in front of Kortrijk station. There, someone was attacked with a broken glass. The victim was taken to hospital, but is not in life-threatening condition, the Kortrijk public prosecutor’s office reported. No suspects have yet been arrested for those charges. Camera images are available, which will be investigated, the prosecutor’s office said.
