A person is just over 12 o’clock picked up from the water in the Oslo Fjord. He has been pronounced dead.
– We received a message via AMK that someone had found a lifeless person in the water. We are on our way to the scene now with a fire boat, police helicopter and air ambulance, said operations manager Gjermund Stokkli in the Oslo police district just after the message came.
The deceased is an adult. According to the operations manager, it is too early to say anything about the background to the incident and what happened, but the police are currently treating the case as an accident.
– The person was found by passers-by, lifeless. We do not know how long the person has been in the water, but it is not very long, says Stokkli.
The police currently do not have a boat or things on land that point them in the direction of what may have happened, and therefore conduct extensive searches both on land and in water, and from the air.
The person has not yet been identified, but the police state that they know the gender of the deceased.
