Person found dead after fire in apartment in Oslo – NRK Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country

It was fire crews who entered the apartment and found the deceased.

– The fire service spent a long time getting control of the fire. Eventually they got control and then they found a dead person inside the apartment. Relatives have been notified, says operations manager Line Skott in the Oslo police district to NRK.

Three people have inhaled smoke and are being cared for by health personnel.

– It is currently unclear how they are doing, but they were all upbeat and talkative, says Scott.

One person has been sent to hospital with burns on his hands.

The fire was extinguished

At 04.00, the police inform that the fire has been extinguished.

Skott says that the fire brigade will be on site for some time to come and carry out post-extinguishing.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

– It’s too early to say. The crime scene will be investigated by the police forensic technicians, but it will probably take several days, partly due to the heat, says the operations manager.

30 people evacuated

Around 30 people evacuated themselves from the nine-storey apartment block in Tokerudberget on Stovner in Oslo. Some are gathered in Fossum church, while others have received help to get other accommodation options.

The police were notified of the fire immediately after one o’clock on Saturday night.
