In an accident with a carnival car in Meerssen in Limburg, a person died on Monday, the police reported. The car and the accompanying tractor got off the road at the end of the afternoon.
The accident took place at Op de Beukel, a street in the north of the Limburg village. At the moment it is not clear what exactly happened.
The tractor is lying on its side in the sloping roadside, according to regional media. More than an hour after the accident, the police announced that the victim had died. Nothing was disclosed about the identity of the person.
The carnival carriage drove earlier in the day in the carnival parade from Rothem to Meerssen.
