In the last week, the police in the Interior have closed down significant investigative resources after a person reported an unknown perpetrator for threats and abuse.
– The police have spent the last week verifying the victim’s explanations, says police attorney Sten Floor Nelson.
The investigation has revealed a number of factors that are not compatible with his explanations of the course of events and his own and others’ movements.
The police write in a press release that they take such a false report very seriously.
– We take all cases seriously and investigate on the basis that it has happened. False reports are at the expense of other serious cases and undermine the credibility of others who report abuse, emphasizes police attorney Sten Floor Nelson.
