Persija Jakarta Releases Two Players to Join Indonesian National Team Despite Controversy

Persija Jakarta make sure to release two of his players who are called to Indonesian National team. Rizky Ridho and Witan Sulaeman will join Garuda on June 10.

Rizky Ridho and Witan are two of the 11 players who have not joined the Indonesian National Team Training Center (TC). The TC has been held in Surabaya since, Tuesday (10/6/2023).

The absence of a number of players, including two names from Persija, angered the Indonesian National Team Manager, Sumardji. He brought up the agenda of the national team as the interests of the nation.

After this drama, finally Persian raise your voice. They promised to release the two young players to the Indonesian National Team in the near future.

“Two Persija players will follow on Saturday, June 10,” said Persija President Mohamad Prapanca, quoted from CNN Indonesia.

Sumardji’s anger at Persija was caused by the absence of competitions or events that Persija took part in. On the other hand, Persija has been preparing for League 1 2023/2024 since May 25.

While Rizky Ridho and Witan only joined Persija on June 5 because they received compensation after strengthening the U-23 national team at the 2023 SEA Games. That means that the two of them have only spent three days with Persija compared to their other colleagues.

Despite the absence of competition because Liga 1 hasn’t started yet, Persian indeed have the right to use their players outside the FIFA Matchday period which only falls on June 12-20. This is also why several players from foreign clubs have not released their players to the Indonesian National Team.

It is scheduled that players from abroad will follow the Indonesian National Team TC on June 11-12. They are Jordi Amat, Saddil Ramdani, Pratama Arhan, Shayne Pattynama, Asnawi Mangkualam and Elkan Baggott.
