Various reactions from netizens emerged after the two players Persija JakartaOndrej Kudela and Andritany Ardhiyasa, saved the referee from the fury of unscrupulous fans PSS Sleman.

PSS Slemarn had to swallow a bitter pill when they hosted Persija in the sixth week of League 1 at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Friday (4/8).

Compete in front of the public itself, the hosts were forced to give up 1-3. Persija’s winning goals were scored by Hanif Sjahbandi (16′), Firza Andika (24′), and Roy Matsumura (52′).

Meanwhile, the only goal in return for the team nicknamed Super Eagle Jawa was presented by their foreign player, Jonathan Bustos in the 72nd minute.

The duel was colored by the action of the fans taking to the field. One of the PSS fans, who was wearing all black, was clearly about to attack the referee.

However, Kudela and Andritany managed to mute the plans of the supporters. Kudela prevented the fan from running towards the referee, while Andritany protected the referee.

A moment later, several other PSS supporters also took to the field and tried to attack the judge. However, the referee first entered the aisle of the players’ locker room.

The disappointment of PSS fans was also shown by changing the score after the game. One of the fans was caught climbing to change the final score to 12-3 in favor of the hosts.

Various comments also appeared on social media, including on Instagram. The Persija players received praise for helping to block the referee from the angry home fans who took to the field.

“Andritany and Kudy detained supporters who wanted to run towards the referee,” read a short video description uploaded by netizens.

Not a few netizens criticized the behavior of PSS supporters. The handful of fans who stepped down were considered to tarnish the good name of Indonesian club supporters who wanted to improve.

“I’ve lost my temper again. Is this the name of the best supporter?” wrote one netizen.

“Not reflecting on the Kanjuruhan Tragedy, indeed the human resources of the supporters must be improved. If the club loses, don’t go berserk. Please @erickthohir sanction PSS Sleman,” wrote another netizen.

The behavior of the home fans will have an impact on club management. The PSSI Disciplinary Committee will most likely give sanctions to the match organizing committee who are deemed to have failed to carry out their duties properly.
